Glacier at Bråsvellbreen, Svalbard

The glacier at Bråsvellbreen is truly enormous, stretching for around 180 km along the SE side of Nordaustland. This sketch, done on the spot, does nothing to capture the scale, but it does get some of the amazing arctic light and clarity. A flock of Brunnich's guillemots fly past. Wilderness, extraordinary landscape, and everywhere wildlife making the most of the brief summer. Magic!
